The Korg SP500 stage piano is loaded with 396 sound programs, all taken from Korg's professional synthesizers. In addition to 19 different piano sounds, the Korg SP500 stage piano boasts a selection of electric piano, organ, flute/sax, brass, strings, guitar, drum and synthesizer sounds. There are also eight special Melody Voice programs featuring natural-sounding vibrato that realistically captures each instrument’s expressivity. Any two sounds can be layered together or split between the SP500’s high and low ranges.

The Korg SP500 digital piano features Korg’s newest real weighted hammer action II keyboard that responds to your playing in the same way a grand piano does. It provides a heavier touch in the low register and a lighter touch in the high register. The Korg SP500’s key touch control function can be adjusted in six stages, letting you select the sensitivity you prefer.

A wide range of Rhythm Styles covering rock, pop, jazz and more enable the SP500 stage piano to deliver the full-sounding performance of a complete pro backup band. The Korg SP500 stage piano comes loaded with 128 Rhythm Styles, 26 Pianist Rhythm Styles and room for 64 User Styles you can create and save to memory.

The Korg SP500 Digital Piano boasts Korg's advanced TouchView Graphical User Interface, a feature found on the company’s flagship music workstations. The touch-panel LCD lets you select or modify sounds and accompaniment styles by simply touching words or images displayed on the screen. Operation is easy, and the functions are literally at your fingertips.
The SP500 stage piano also provides a Help function to ensure that even first-time users can quickly master its operation. Just press the Help button at any time and an explanation of each function appears in the large TouchView display.

DIGITAL EFFECTS ADD DRAMA AND SPARKLE TO YOUR MUSIC

The Korg SP500 stage piano delivers a full complement of 37 different effects. These include reverb, delay, chorus, flanger, exciter, distortion, overdrive, phaser, rotary speaker auto-pan and tremolo. The SP500 digital piano’s high-quality effects share the same heritage as the effects in Korg’s professional and stage instruments.

TWO EASY-TO-USE RECORDING MODES

When you play, you can save your performance to the Korg SP500’s internal memory as one of up to 100 songs. No floppy disk is required. This provides a convenient way to play back your performances or listen to lessons. You can record your realtime piano performances or use the accompaniment system to capture a complete ensemble production. You can even use step-recording to enter your chords one at a time. Since the Korg SP500 is GM compatible it can be hooked up to a computer or other MIDI-equipped devices to play back song files, take interactive music lessons and many other fun and educational musical activities.
